About Jeopardy
When people think about game shows, there’s only one show they immediately ask about. They’re probably asking, “What is Jeopardy?” And, most of the time, that’s the right assumption to make.
Jeopardy is an American game show created by Merv Griffin. It’s a rather unique quiz show, too. Instead of providing answers to questions, the contestants are provided clues in the forms of answers, which they use to form their responses in question form.
The original version of Jeopardy aired on March 30, 1964 on NBC, and concluded airing January 3, 1975. Its first weekly nighttime syndicated form started September 1974 and aired until September 1975.
By October 1978, the game show was brought back as The All-New Jeopardy, airing until March 1979. The most successful version of the show, hosted by Alex Trebek, is the currently daily syndicated version, having aired since September 10, 1984. This version won 30 Daytime Emmy Awards, a Peabody Award and is now franchised across other forms of media, including board games and video games.
Jeopardy now has well over 6,000 episodes and is pretty much ingrained in popular culture as we know it. So, it’s no wonder that International Gaming Technology was tasked to create a slot machine that fit the criteria of the game itself.

The Jeopardy slot machine embodies much of what makes the show popular in the first place. At first glance, you’ll see that IGT did a great job at mimicking the conventions of Jeopardy through featuring graphics, voice overs and the sounds people associated with the popular game show. The Jeopardy slot machine is a five reel slot machine with up to nine pay lines. Of course, it features several bonus rounds. You can play the Jeopardy slot machine with the buttons located at the bottom of the screen, which is a row of six buttons. The machine lets you click to bet up to four coins on any of the nine lines. Of course, if you want to bet the maximum of five coins, click Bet Max to bet on all nine lines.
If you don’t feel adventurous, you can just select the line you want to bet on the left side of the screen. So, you don’t have to activate all of the lines, if you don’t want to. Like many IGT casino games, the cash prizes are great. If you manage to get the Jeopardy symbol on all five lines, you’ll win as much as 25,000 credits. The wild card icon acts as a multiplier, multiplying your winnings by as much as 2X should you get it.
The symbols featured on the reels of the Jeopardy slot machine include the famous Jeopardy logo, fruits, the game show’s actual categories (like science, music and sports), sevens (7), the double and triple Jeopardy symbols.

The Final Jeopardy bonus sound is activated by selecting the appropriate square. Then, the game pits you in a game of Jeopardy, where you’ll have to wager your winnings on a Jeopardy question.
